Q: What is the deal with the multiple names?
A: I like to section out different musical projects under different names to keep them cohesive. My solo rock project is called "Between Pluto and Me" as a reference to the book "Between the World and Me" by Ta-Nehisi Coates. I use the stage name "Emma Pluto" as a combination of my chosen name and the original name used for the project (which doesn't really make sense if you think about it too hard). I use my given name for classical composition, and "Emma Ceres" for my electronic and video game music becuase it fit the theming of my first project. There's also some meaning with Ceres and Pluto both being dwarf planets. My first name for both projects used to be Charlie, but why is a mystery........
Q: What are you working on right now?
A: Too much stuff. I'm making and performing lots of music, mostly.
Q: What is the deal with your record label?
A: It's not actually a real company lol. I just use it to post any silly music I make, and any music my friends want to distribute.
Q: What is your favorite instrument?
A: My favorite instrument to play is upright bass, and my favorite instrument to listen to is either cello, piano, or accordion.
Q: Who are your biggest musical influences?
A: It depends on what sort of music thing I am doing. For writing my biggest inspirations are The Beatles, American Football, Mac DeMarco, Feed Me Jack, glass beach, Woody Guthrie, Car Seat Headrest, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Modern Baseball, Origami Angel, black midi, Queen, Dazey and the Scouts, Men I Trust, and Slaughter Beach, Dog.
Q: Who are your favorite musical artists right now?
A: "Woody Guthrie", "Car Seat Headrest", "Kendrick Lamar", "Tally Hall", "Devo", "Dazey and the Scouts" and "Yes".
Q: What instruments can you play?
A: Upright and electric bass, guitar, piano, ukelele, percusion (including drums), banjo, and voice. If we are including instruments I am varying degrees of terrible at, the list includes cello, clarinet, and harmonica.
Q: Do you have other hobbies besides music?
A: Yeah, I'm kinda a gamer. My favorite games are Minecraft, Celeste, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Kingdom Hearts. I also enjoy reading, writing, electrical engineering, and photography.

A: Just being alive ig. Queerness, mental health, romance and enviornmentalism are common themes. If you want a more detailed answer ask yourself.

A: Right now Hip-Hop.

A: Psychedelic/indie rock. Close second is electronic, and 3rd would be folk/singer-songwriter. "Ambient" electronic music is fun too.
