A: I like to section out different musical projects under different names to keep them cohesive. My solo rock project is called "Between Pluto and Me" as a reference to the book "Between the World and Me" by Ta-Nehisi Coates. I use the stage name "Emma Pluto" as a combination of my chosen name and the original name used for the project (which doesn't really make sense if you think about it too hard). I use my given name for classical composition, and "Emma Ceres" for my electronic and video game music becuase it fit the theming of my first project. There's also some meaning with Ceres and Pluto both being dwarf planets. My name for both of my music projects used to start with Charlie, but why is a mystery........
Q: What are you working on right now?
A: Too much stuff. I'm making and performing lots of music, mostly.
Q: What is the deal with your record label?
A: It's not actually a real company lol. I just use it to post any silly music I make, and any music my friends want to distribute.
Q: What is your favorite instrument?
A: My favorite instrument to play is upright bass, and my favorite instrument to listen to is either cello, piano, or accordion.
Q: Who are your biggest musical influences?
A: It depends on what sort of music thing I am doing. For writing my biggest inspirations are The Beatles, Mac DeMarco, Feed Me Jack, glass beach, Woody Guthrie, Car Seat Headrest, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Modern Baseball, Origami Angel, black midi, Queen, Dazey and the Scouts, Men I Trust, and Slaughter Beach, Dog.
Q: Who are your favorite musical artists right now?
A: "Aphex Twin", Dmitri Shostakovich, "Bad Bunny", "FEM&M", and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.
Q: What instruments can you play?
A: Upright and electric bass, guitar and, piano. I am less good at ukelele, percusion (including drums), banjo, and singing. If we are including instruments I am varying degrees of terrible at, the list includes cello, clarinet, and harmonica.
Q: Do you have other hobbies besides music?
A: I do photography sometimes in my free time, I try to carry a camera with me wherever I go. I played a lot of video games in middle and high school, and my favorite games are Minecraft, Celeste, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Earthbound, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and Deltarune. I also enjoy reading, writing, language learning, and designing music gear circuitry.
Q: What languages can you speak?
A: English and Spanish. Spanish is my second language I picked up as a young teenager. I am learning French. I know some basic Portuguese. I tried to write a song with Romanian in it and it did not go well. Language is somewhat of an obsession of mine, I made conlangs throughout high school, and while I did take Spanish classes in school, I mostly learned on my own through (I've since mostly fallen out of the hobby)

A: Well, so far I have. No promises. (As of July 2026, I've actually rebuilt it several times)

A: Just being alive ig. Queerness, mental health, romance and enviornmentalism are common themes. If you want a more detailed answer ask yourself.

A: Right now classical and electronic music.

A: Psychedelic/indie rock. Close second is electronic, and 3rd would be folk/singer-songwriter. "Ambient" electronic music is fun too.
